Living From Moment To Moment
By Ranjan Mathews.
One of the best philosophies ever, coined by late Jiddu Krishnamurthy, a non-Guru ! The conept itself is a unique experience -- you look at each moment's experience as Fresh, without any pre-conceived notions. You observe and try to be aware of what is happening. You love without being possessive. When one starts being possesive "Maya" creeps in. There is this tendency to get attached to objects and persons like leaning on a crutch. The kind of attachment that late Mother Teresa had for the poor was something out-of-this world, spurred by religious intensity, no "maya" there. Again if you take late Baba Amte who devoted his life to eradicating leprosy, that was no"maya" but the greatest social service man could ever do to heal his ailing brethren. Coming back to Krishnamurthy, keeping the mind at high awareness level by concentrating on, say the yellow colour of a Sunflower will itself transport you deeper into the world of Creation and God. You observe the flower and there is this relation between the observer and the observed. Living from moment to moment entails living life as it is, you accept the "what is" from what isn't.
Carlos Castaneda, philosophised about Shamans and past life and how he could move from one time zone to another, backwards and forwards. Many people dismissed it as sheer fiction, and a figment of his fertile imagination. The whole concept sounded intersting enough, and it inspired me to write the poem "Shadows of Time".Life is actually about "What is", not what was or what its going to be. Then maybe we'll enjoy our Today the Best.
